Here it is: A Natural Based Remedy for Menstrual Cramps

It’s that dreaded time of the month and the symptoms hit you like a ton of bricks. The bloating, nausea, headache and the horrible cramps. All of these effects make it extremely difficult to get through the day or get the much needed rest at night. Well relief often comes with certain changes to the lifestyle. A jump start to that can be as simple as a cup of tea. Read on!

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while. This is something that I’ve actually tried and it works! The ingredients are cheap, easy to get and should bring you relief during that dreary time of the month. All you need is cinnamon tea, parsley and honey. All of these natural ingredients have great benefits for the body – especially for women who are seeking menstrual relief.

Cinnamon benefits:

Fights first day cramps
Provides antioxidants
Contains inflammatory properties that help ease muscle pain

Parsley:

Helps regulate menstrual cycle

Ingredients:
Cinnamon Tea bag
1-2 tsp. fresh Parsley leaves
Hot water
2 1/2 tsp. honey

Directions:
Place tea bag into tea cup or coffee mug
Place fresh parsley leaves into cup
Bring water to a boil
Pour into cup over tea bag and leaves
Let tea steep for a about 3 minutes (optional – I usually leave the tea bag in the cup)
Remove tea bag (optional)
Add honey and stir
Sip away!

You can use this any time of day, but I think it’s really effective in the evening, before you go to bed. You’ll really feel the difference in your sleep and you won’t be bothered by overnight cramps.

Additional methods that help with cramp relief:

  • Exercise (around 20 minutes a day)
  • Stretching
  • A hot water pad or bottle
  • Reducing sugar intake
