I’ve previously expressed my thoughts on Writer’s Block and wanted to revisit that again; between crazy news stories, keeping the family intact and other endless responsibilities, there is a significant lack of self-care going on right now. And if you’re struggling to take care of yourself, then how are you writing or finding the time to read a good book?
My writing journey over the years has consisted of revisiting the wellness factor. I often had to look at where I was mentally, emotionally and spiritually before diving into creating a new character or working on a blog post, workbook or an article for a magazine. There were a lot of personal challenges because I was spending the majority of my time taking care of others, given my 9-5 in the wellness arena.

I learned to take small steps, instead of trying to achieve so much in one big step. It started with small to-do lists, goals, thoughts, plans; words that helped me offload what I was carrying for way too long. Even for my day to day, if I had to have conversations with a friend, boss or colleague, writing helped prepare me for those encounters. I used to be so frustrated with myself when I couldn’t get through a conversation or get my point across like I intended, because my thoughts were out of whack. Writing helped me empower my voice by organizing my thoughts.

The Writing is Your Wellness tool I developed has all the perks I used to help me get out of my own way and be productive with something I love to do so much – writing. A lot of office drama, toxicity and dysfunction were getting in the way of my productivity, but once Is started using writing as a wellness tool, my journey became productive.

If you’ve been a part of my journey through this blog, then you know how writing about things that have happened, or things that I’ve overcome brought me to a place of sharing my writing through publications, newsletters and more. Check out the tool here and let me know what you think.
Happy reading and happy writing!
